Yamunayil kulir thookum...

After a long break I'm resuming audioblogging with the malayalam version of a popular tamil song from the movie Dhalapathi. The movie was dubbed into telugu and hindi so did the song. Here is my version of the song in Malayalam. I have tried to sing this in base voice so you might find my version different from the original.

When I received a malayalam poem as Thanksgiving Gift from a visitor to my blog saaramgi , i thought of asking her to pen the lyrics in malayalam for this song. She gladly obliged and sent the lyrics rightaway but it took me a while to post it here. Saaramgi, thank you for your efforts and patience. Thanks to all those ppl who never stopped asking for a song update in this blog and for sending in song requests, i will definitely work on the same and post the songs.

Spl thanks to Iyyaps for keeping the music alive in me though i gave up many many times...this one is for you.

Language: Malayalam
Song: Yamunayil kulir thookum
Lyrics: Saaramgi
Sung by: Rosh
Dedicated to: Iyyaps

dear rosh..it's wonderful!! u sung this song nicely, when u asked me about writing the malayalam version of this Tamil song, i was so excited and started writing, thinking this would be very easy.. but since i am not that familiar with Tamil, some of my friends helped me with the word 'anpu tholla'. :-) but i feel it's gud. your voice suits for this song very well..

thank you kiran for your words!

Wonderful job Rosh!! Beautiful singing.

And amazing lyrics by Sreeja chechi without losing the essence of the original version and yet beautifully penned it so that even those who heard the original wont lose that feel.

Great work!

great job by the translator(:s:).
It has been a while since i heard anything in malayalam... I loved this one. sweet.

Since there is no BGM here, I was reminded of your older song "My Immortal". (coincidentally just yesterday, I heard the original for the first time...). I felt that your version of that song was slightly slower in tempo compared to the original (may be an illusion?)... but it seemed that much better...better stress(stronger?). neat.

Good to see you recording again :)

PS: no offense taken. I thought you knew already. [some post by a friend somewhere?]

.::CB::. thank you. Ruled out the medley for this solo since i wanted to keep the lyricist in focus.

.::Sojo::. thank you. Its good to be back here.
Abt 'My Immortal' There are several versions of the song available. I created the track by removing only the vocals from the original version. It is very tough to recreate Evanescence/Amy's style of singing

.::NY::. thanks girl, will convey your appreciation to the lyricist.

.::Anup::. thank you pal. I hope so too, will try to keep this blog updated.

I am now polishing that song to avoid most errors. Its composed in Hamsadhwani and the thing is that I dont have lyrics for that. I will send you the track played in violin. you can contact me thru praveenkrishnag@rediffmail.com, so that I can send you the track soon.
